Dr. Stewart became the director of Lewis & Clark in 2016 after spending the previous year as assistant director.  Before arriving at Lewis & Clark, Dr. Stewart spent two years as assistant principal at Jefferson Intermediate School and three years in the same position at St. Charles West High School. For the ten years prior, Dr. Stewart taught social studies at Pattonville High School.  Educationally, he earned a bachelor’s in political science from Hope College (Michigan), a master’s in teaching from Washington University in St. Louis, and a doctorate in educational leadership from Saint Louis University.  

Dr. Stewart is married and has three children.  In his spare time, he enjoys golf, tennis, reading, and spending time with his family.  He also serves on the Board of Aldermen in his community.

Mr. Steven Smith


Mr. Smith joined Lewis & Clark as the assistant director just prior to the start of the 2016-17 year.  A proud graduate of Mizzou, Mr. Smith joined the teaching ranks of St. Charles West High School in 2007.  He spent eight years as a social studies teacher followed by a year as a full-time administrative intern.  Mr. Smith has earned master’s degrees in education and educational administration.  He is currently pursuing his doctorate.

Mr. Smith is married and has two boys.  Most of his spare time is spent with them on their various activities.
