Mr. Turners Automotive service class participated in a two day bio diesel class that was hosted by Ranken Technical College. John Shoffner and automotive instructor from Ranken and Darrin Peters a chemistry teacher from Rockwood Summit High School taught the event here at Lewis and Clark Career Center. The event was well received by the students and might have light some fires for future alternative fuel makers out of some of the students that attended. Along with making Bio Diesel the students were also exposed to the process of how soap is made which is the only byproduct of making the alternative fuel. It was a very positive experience for the class and we can't wait to have them back next year. I really appreciate the two gentlemen who donated their time to teach us the process.
